Step One: Your Consultation

Every smile journey begins with a conversation. You’ll meet with one of our team who will examine your teeth, discuss what you’d like to achieve, and explain what’s possible for your unique situation. We’ll take photographs and a digital scan of your teeth. No uncomfortable impressions needed .

Step Two: Your Personalised Treatment Plan

Using Spark’s advanced 3D software, we’ll create a digital simulation showing how your teeth are expected to move throughout treatment. You’ll be able to see, before you even begin, the beautiful smile you’re working toward. Together, we’ll review the plan and ensure you’re completely happy with the predicted outcome.

Step Three: Fitting Your First Aligners

When your custom aligners are ready, you’ll visit us to collect your full set. We’ll ensure the first few aligners fit comfortably, explain exactly what to expect, and answer any questions you may have. Most patients find the fitting process straightforward and surprisingly quick.

Step Four: Your Daily Routine with Spark

You’ll wear your aligners for approximately 22 hours each day, removing them only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and cleaning your teeth. This means you can continue enjoying all your favourite foods – no restrictions, no awkward adjustments.

Every one to two weeks, you’ll progress to the next aligner in your series. Each new set represents another gentle step toward your final smile. Some patients notice a mild awareness when switching to a new aligner,  a sign that things are moving as they should, but this typically settles quickly .

Step Five: Caring for Your Aligners and Teeth

One of the great advantages of removable aligners is how easily you can maintain your oral hygiene. You’ll simply take them out to brush and floss normally, then pop them back in. Your aligners themselves can be cleaned gently with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water.

Step Six: Regular Check-Ins

Throughout your treatment, we’ll invite you for periodic progress checks. These appointments allow us to ensure everything is tracking as planned and to provide you with your next series of aligners. Many patients find they need fewer practice visits than they might with traditional braces.

What Can Spark Treat?

Spark Aligners are suitable for a wide range of orthodontic concerns, including crowding, spacing, overbite (Class II), underbite (Class III), open bite, and crossbite. Not all aligner systems can address as many complex issues, which is something we value in offering Spark to our patients.

They’re also an excellent option for adults who may have crowns, bridges, or implants, situations where traditional braces can be more challenging to place . The aligners can be designed to work around existing dental work, providing a more seamless experience.

The Timeline

Treatment duration varies depending on your individual needs. Some patients achieve their desired results in as little as six to eight months, while others may take longer. We’ll give you a clear estimate during your consultation, based on your specific treatment plan.
